Kunmi Adesina, the First Education Secretary of Ibadan South East Local Government and Former Member of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Nassarawa, has showered accolades on His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, for his unparalleled contributions to the educational sector in the state.

In a heartfelt New Year message, Hon. Kunmi Adesina lauded Governor Seyi Makinde's Educational Reforms, hailing them as second to none in the annals of the New Oyo State. The distinguished achievements highlighted include:

Reduction in Out-of-School Children: A commendable effort resulting in a reduction of over 54,570 out-of-school children at the primary and secondary school levels across Oyo State.

Infrastructure Improvement: Deployment of over 26,500 chairs and tables to enhance study comfort for pupils and teachers, addressing infrastructural deficits in schools.

Timely Student Bursaries: Ensuring the timely payment of students' bursaries to encourage academic pursuit.

LAUTECH University Acquisition: Sole acquisition of LAUTECH University to strengthen higher education in the state.

Classroom Renovations: Renovation of over 700 classrooms and the construction of perimeter fences in Oyo State.

Education Institution Expansion: Approval for Emmanuel Alayande College of Education to University, with operations already underway.

Teacher Employment: Recruitment of over 5,000 highly qualified teachers to enhance educational performance.

International Collaborations: Pledging to create linkages with internationally based institutions to elevate the quality of education.
