In a remarkable display of unity, faith, and commitment to progress, the esteemed League of Imams in Ibadan South East Local Government has thrown its weight behind the PDP chairmanship candidate, Honorable Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode,his vice,Hon. Teslim Ogundeji and the councillorship candidates:  Badmus Ibrahim -Ward 1, Akinpelu Akinkunmi Kure -ward 2, Lamidi Sulaimon - ward 3, Olalekan Oloko -ward 4, Akintola Ademola -ward 5,Abifarin Rotimi - ward 6, Ojemuyiwa John -ward 7, Adebisi Adekunle -ward 8, Azeez Ademola ward 9,Akeem Alarape- ward 10, Hajia Gbolagade Olabisi Balikis (G-Biss) -ward 11 and Ayodeji Oladepo (Omo-Oba) -ward 12 ahead of the local government election scheduled to hold on April 27,2024.
 The league, representing the spiritual backbone of the community, extended their blessings and endorsement during a historic meeting held at the central mosque in Oja-Oba yesterday,14th of March 2024.
Honorable Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate, accompanied by his vice, Honorable Teslim Ogundeji, and the entire councilorship team, embarked on a solemn yet inspiring journey to seek the support and prayers of the League of Imams. Amidst a gathering of devout leaders and faithful, the PDP delegation, led by the central campaign council, expressed their profound gratitude for the opportunity to engage with such esteemed spiritual leaders.
Addressing the assembly under the distinguished chairmanship of Imam Mogaji Itaagbakin, the Chairman of Contact and Mobilization, Alhaji Temitope (Supreme), underscored the significance of the league's support for the Alawode/Ogundeji re-election bid. The League of Imams, in turn, warmly welcomed the PDP team, recognizing their commitment to inclusive governance and equitable representation.
Honorable Ademola Akeem Ige, the Director-General of the central campaign council, extolled the virtues of Honourable Emmanuel Alawode's leadership, acknowledging the invaluable support of Governor Seyi Makinde in advancing the developmental agenda of Oyo State. With ongoing infrastructure projects transforming communities across the state, Honourable Akeem Ige appealed for the continuity of these commendable initiatives, urging the League of Imams to rally massively behind all the PDP candidates in the upcoming local government election on April 27th, 2024.
In response, Mogaji Itaagbakin Adewusi reaffirmed the unwavering support of the League of Imams for Honourable Emmanuel Alawode and all the entire candidates of the party, emphasizing the party's dedication to serving the interests of the people. The league articulated specific requests for government intervention which include:provision of  Bus, Alj slot, educational support for Muslim brethrens and essential medical equipments to the various health centers in Ibadan South East Local Government, underscoring their commitment to the well-being of the people.In reaction to that, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode assures the league of Imam of his continuous support and smooth relationship with the entire body of Islam in Ibadan South East Local Government, noting that his administration will be reaching out to the Islamic clerics and Muslim brethren for various government opportunities. Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode promised to be fair and open to all the religion in a way to give equal sense of belonging and to maintain balance style of leadership with all the religion affiliations in Ibadan South East Local Government. 
As prayers resonated through the hallowed halls of the central mosque, led by Imam Mogaji Itaagbakin Adewusi and attended by a multitude of revered Imams, a powerful sense of unity and purpose pervaded the gathering. The collective endorsement of the PDP candidates by the League of Imams heralds a new chapter of progress, inclusivity, and shared prosperity for Ibadan South East Local Government and beyond.
