In a remarkable display of unity, faith, and commitment to progress, the esteemed League of Imams in Ibadan South East Local Government has thrown its weight behind the PDP chairmanship candidate, Honorable Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode,his vice,Hon. Teslim Ogundeji and the councillorship candidates: Badmus Ibrahim -Ward 1, Akinpelu Akinkunmi Kure -ward 2, Lamidi Sulaimon - ward 3, Olalekan Oloko -ward 4, Akintola Ademola -ward 5,Abifarin Rotimi - ward 6, Ojemuyiwa John -ward 7, Adebisi Adekunle -ward 8, Azeez Ademola ward 9,Akeem Alarape- ward 10, Hajia Gbolagade Olabisi Balikis (G-Biss) -ward 11 and Ayodeji Oladepo (Omo-Oba) -ward 12 ahead of the local government election scheduled to hold on April 27,2024.
The league, representing the spiritual backbone of the community, extended their blessings and endorsement during a historic meeting held at the central mosque in Oja-Oba yesterday,14th of March 2024.
Honorable Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate, accompanied by his vice, Honorable Teslim Ogundeji, and the entire councilorship team, embarked on a solemn yet inspiring journey to seek the support and prayers of the League of Imams. Amidst a gathering of devout leaders and faithful, the PDP delegation, led by the central campaign council, expressed their profound gratitude for the opportunity to engage with such esteemed spiritual leaders.
Addressing the assembly under the distinguished chairmanship of Imam Mogaji Itaagbakin, the Chairman of Contact and Mobilization, Alhaji Temitope (Supreme), underscored the significance of the league's support for the Alawode/Ogundeji re-election bid. In response, Mogaji Itaagbakin Adewusi reaffirmed the unwavering support of the League of Imams for Honourable Emmanuel Alawode and all the entire candidates of the party, emphasizing the party's dedication to serving the interests of the people. The league articulated specific requests for government intervention which include:provision of Bus, Alj slot, educational support for Muslim brethrens and essential medical equipments to the various health centers in Ibadan South East Local Government, underscoring their commitment to the well-being of the people.In reaction to that, Hon.
