Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo, popularly known as RAD, has formally declared her intention to contest for a seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Lagelu Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, with a strong appeal for increased women’s inclusiveness in governance.

During her declaration, RAD passionately called on the governor, party leaders, stakeholders, and faithful members to go beyond rhetoric and take concrete steps toward ensuring greater female representation in elective positions. She emphasized the urgent need for a shift that would allow women to have a stronger voice in the legislative arm of government.

She expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering support for women’s empowerment, describing him as a true champion of gender inclusion in both the state and the nation.

“For years, our men have done their part in representing Lagelu, and we appreciate their contributions to the development of our state. However, the time has come to give women the opportunity to also serve and bring a different perspective to governance,” she stated.

“I am not coming to start from scratch. I intend to consolidate on the gains already made, while ensuring that our people feel the true impact of representation through effective legislation and constituency engagement,” she added.
