It is with deep sense of responsibility and purpose that I, Engr. Oyèwálé George Salawudeen, hereby formally declare my interest in contesting for the position of *Chairman, Oyo West Local Government* under the platform of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

I am an ardent and loyal follower of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde. My admiration for his leadership style, people-centered governance, and unwavering commitment to development dates back to my undergraduate days as a Civil Engineering student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, where I also had the privilege of serving as a student leader. During this formative period, I closely followed his political journey, drawing inspiration from his consistency, courage, and visionary leadership.

The emphasis placed by Governor Makinde on professionalism, logic, and competence has greatly influenced my personal and career development. In line with these values, I have diligently pursued professional excellence as a Civil Engineer, becoming registered, and further advancing my academic qualifications with a Master’s Degree. These experiences have equipped me with the technical knowledge, discipline, and strategic thinking required for effective leadership and service delivery.

Politically, I have remained steadfast, loyal, and actively involved in the growth and consolidation of our party at the grassroots. In the 2024 Oyo West Chairmanship Election, I served as the *Secretary of the Contact and Mobilization Committee*, where I played a pivotal role in grassroots engagement, voter mobilization, and strengthening the party’s reach across all wards within the local government.

Furthermore, I am a committed member of the *Oyo State PDP Media Team*, where I contribute to promoting the achievements of the Makinde-led administration and projecting the ideals and programs of our party through strategic communication.

My dedication to public service is further demonstrated by my aspiration to serve as a Councillor representing my ward. I enjoyed overwhelming support from the people due to my accessibility, track record, and commitment. However, in obedience to party supremacy and discipline, I accepted the party’s decision when I was not fielded, and I have since remained loyal and committed to the unity and progress of the PDP.

My aspiration to lead Oyo West Local Government is driven by a clear vision to deepen grassroots development, empower our youths and women, improve infrastructure, strengthen local economic growth, and promote transparency and accountability in governance. I am fully prepared to build on the solid foundation laid by the current administration and to deliver impactful leadership that reflects the aspirations of our people.

I humbly seek the support, trust, and endorsement of the party leadership, stakeholders, delegates, and the good people of Oyo West Local Government as I offer myself for this noble responsibility.
